Idea Student Government

The D.C. Everest Idea School Student Government is a student-run, year-long club that operates various Idea School activities and events.

How Do Students Join Student Government?

Student Government eligibility is outlined in our bylaws. All students who have attended Idea for one school year and have a GPA of 3.5 or higher can run for office during the October elections. Running for office does require the approval of the student’s advisor to ensure academic good standing.

What is the Role of Student Government?

At our weekly meetings, we discuss the status of our various year-long operations, as well as plan town hall events, purchases, student project funding requests and other activities we would like to pursue. Student Government provides its members with various leadership and learning opportunities, as well as political experience through designated meeting procedures.
